On Friday night the WSL weekend kicked-off with a London derby of Chelsea vs. Arsenal, however the teams didn’t start the game at the designated time as their was a kit-clash. Arsenal played with their own white socks during warm-up, however they clased with Chelsea’s white socks and, therefore, the game couldn’t kick-off until a solution was found for the socks. Whether this affected Arsenal’s performance is something we’ll never know, however, the first half performance was absolutely shambolic and saw Chelsea score three quick goals. The other team in the top 3, Manchester City got a convincing win over Brighton. Once again Lauren Hemp proved valuable for the Citizens by scoring and assisting. For a long time they were just one goal behind in goal difference to Chelsea, however a late Brighton goal means they are equal on points, but two goals behind in goal difference. Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool showed once again that they have made massive improvements over the campaign of this season as the best of the rest (behind the 4 teams of last year).
