The WSL season is back!

It’s that time again – the Women’s Super League (WSL) season is about to kick off! And as usual, the competition looks set to be even tighter and more intense, with teams battling fiercely for those top spots. Chelsea’s defense will be even stronger with the addition of Lucy Bronze, while Arsenal has bolstered their midfield creativity by signing Mariona Caldentey. Manchester United has brought in top-quality talent, and Manchester City has successfully held on to their star players’ánd signed Vivanne Miedema. And what about Liverpool and Aston Villa? These teams have posed a serious threat to the top contenders in recent years. Will they make their mark once again this season?

The game of the weekend

Vivianne Miedema’s departure at the end of last season left Arsenal fans – and players – heartbroken, especially when she signed with rivals Manchester City. It seems the fixture committee had drama in mind for the season opener, as Arsenal will face Manchester City this Sunday at the Emirates. Miedema making her WSL debut for City at the home of her former club feels like a true football fairy tale.
