ToggleWeek 15 of the WSL: A short week after the international break
The Women’s Super League is back after some international football over the last 1,5 weeks. A lot of players have traveled across the globe to play one to three games, so will the lack of rest be a factor this weekend in the WSL?
The Women’s Football Blog game of the weekend
This weekends Women’s Football Blog game of the weekend is the battle between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. Tottenham struggled a few weeks ago against Arsenal, but will no doubt be eager to prove that they can compete with top teams in the WSL. Manchester City is slowing charging back up, after they were hit with a massive slump due to injuries before the Christmas break. With more and more players returning back to fitness, it will be interesting to see whether or not City can make a push for the top 3.
Low table Battle: Aston Villa vs. Everton
At the other end of the table, a massive game for Aston Villa vs. Everton. Everton have been inconsequent this season, with good performances against for example Chelsea and Manchester City, but also a loss to West Ham United. Aston Villa, under new manager Arroyo, looked promising in the game against Chelsea but it all fell apart against Leicester City the week after. Will they finally be able to click, and get ex-Lioness Rachel Daly back on the score sheet?
